Since 2023, we closed our online shop each year for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday to support local businesses—and this year, we’re doing it again.

Why?

Because now, more than ever, small businesses need our help to thrive. But instead of focusing on the challenges, we want you to focus on joy.

Whatever your plans are this weekend, we encourage you to go out into your community and find your joy. It could be:

• Picking up pastries and coffee at a local café
• Browsing your neighborhood bookstore
• Strolling through your favorite shops for holiday gifts

That’s how I’ll be spending my Saturday.

Our products are predominantly sold in independently owned brick-and-mortar stores (it’s easier to love a candle when you can experience its scent in person). These stores are vital to us—and many other small makers. If they don’t thrive, neither can we.

So this weekend, we’re choosing community over convenience. Our online shop will be temporarily closed and will reopen on December 1st.

Until then, we hope you’ll embrace your community—whether that means shopping small, spreading the word about your favorite local spots, or simply showing up. If you happen to be in west Michigan, we’ll be at the GR Christkindl market until Dec. 23rd.

Every recommendation you make, every moment you spend supporting small businesses, creates ripples of impact. Word of mouth is powerful because it’s personal. Whether it’s a friend, a coworker, or your favorite barista, their voices matter because you know them.

Take this Small Business Saturday to find your joy and share it. Even if you can't make a purchase, just showing up and sharing your favorite businesses with friends helps to build the vibrant, thriving communities we all want belong to.
